Clik here to view.Yolanda Matos, 64, Deming resident passed away Friday June 6, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon June 9, 2015 from 4 to 6 at Baca's Funeral Chapel with a rosary to follow at 6 o'clock in the evening led by Suzanne Lundy. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father George Soria officiating. Cremation will follow at Baca's Mimbres Crematory.
Yolanda was born October 10, 1950 to Victoria Carbajal and Juan Urenda in Deming. She was a member of the Catholic Church, attended Deming Schools and lived in New York City several years before returning to Deming in 1996. She married William Paul Matos August 8, 1997 in Deming and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, William P. Matos of the home; son, Angel Cruz of West Palm Beach, Florida; 2 daughters, Lydia Urenda of Spring Creek, Nevada and Arelis Cruz of New York, New York; 4 brothers, Henry Urenda of Deming, Richard Urenda of Los Lunas, NM, Lorenzo and Sonny Urenda of Nevada; 1 sister, Anita Palomarez of Vanadium, NM and 8 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Victoria Urenda and sister, Lydia Urenda.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Urenda, Angel Cruz Sr., Angel Cruz Jr., Angel Michael Cruz, Evan Cruz, Victor Palomarez and Charlie (Indio) Parra.
