In Missouri: a couple of weeks ago, several Muslim men started buying all the cell phones from the Wal-Marts in central MO. Now that investigation has taken a turn for the worse, potentially. Just minutes from Lebanon MO, where the 2 men were stopped and questioned for buying hundreds of cell phones, mostly disposable phone, a hunter has uncovered a cached of explosive buried in the ground. The man was hunting in the Mark Twain National Forest when he started to set up camp in the same spot that he had for the last 10 years. But as he walked around the camp site, he noticed something was different. He moved around some leaves and branches to discover soil that was freshly turned over. He began to dig and then quickly called 911. Police found what they described as a cache of "extremely volatile explosives", the type that could be purchased for recreational use. Some of the material had been fashioned into homemade bombs and other IEDs. That suggests a very specific plan. At this point there is not direct connection between the cell phone purchases and the explosives, but given what we know about how terrorists operate, doesn't that suggest a very active cell was about to go public with their plans? And not in a good way.
It has always bothered me that colleges and universities have remedial math, english, and science classes for incoming students. Heck, there are colleges that have classes, for which you can receive college credit, which teach kids how to balance a checkbook, get your utilities turned on, find a place to rent and so on. What that says to the student is, 'we're shocked that your high school let you leave, you're not ready for real life.' And they are right, many schools have turned into babysitters or institutions worried more about self-esteem building than actually educating the kids so that they can participate in society in a meaningful way. When I went to school and we needed our electricity turned on, we opened a phone book and looked up electric company. Then we called them. And now you can get college credit for learning how to do that.
Just more of what's wrong with America: Dan Lebatard was talking about a recent documentary done by a former NFL player about life in gangs as he grew up. The gist of Dan's comments tell you everything you need to know about liberals. His point is that when we hear the word 'gang' used in that context, e.g. someone is in a gang or lives the gang lifestyle, it carries a negative connotation and he's right. What does experience tell us about gangs and their lifestyle? They are violent groups often involved in criminal activities; they live outside the law and outside the bounds of society. Lebatard said we can't look at gangs the same way anymore because many young people join gangs to provide them with a sense of family; many gang members come from broken homes and don't have a sense of belonging that many white people (why he thinks all white people have stereotypical families I don't know) and that gangs serve a good purpose for many of those kids. No Dan, they absolutely do not. Gangs get kids killed or teach them to kill others; to engage in unacceptable activity and to devote their lives to a group that might give them acceptance but teaches them if you leave the gang, you are dead, literally or figuratively. But liberals try to make excuses for every deviant behavior and don't expect people to fight to overcome the obstacles life has placed in their way. Is it any wonder we see what is happening in America?
