Albuquerque, New Mexico - The New Mexico Association of Counties (NMAC) elected new leadership at its 79th Annual Conference in Bernalillo County on Thursday evening June 18, 2015. The new leadership assumed their responsibilities at the conclusion of the NMAC Annual Conference and will host their first Board meeting in Doña Ana County on August 6th and 7th.
The newly elected Board members of NMAC are Bernalillo County Commissioner Debbie O'Malley, Catron County Assessor Susan Griffin, Chaves County Commissioner James Duffey, Cibola County Probate Judge Corrine Padilla, Colfax County Commissioner Bill Sauble, Curry County Sheriff Wesley Waller, De Baca County Commissioner Becky Harris, Dona Ana County Commissioner David Garcia, Eddy County Commissioner Glenn Collier, Grant County Commissioner Ron Hall, Guadalupe County Clerk Patrick Martinez, Harding County Assessor Pete Callahan, Hidalgo County Treasurer Tyler Massey, Lea County Commissioner Rebecca Long, Lincoln County Clerk Rhonda Burrows, Los Alamos County Clerk Sharon Stover, Luna County Commissioner Linda Smrkovsky, McKinley County Commissioner Carol Bowman-Muskett, Mora County Commissioner Paula Garcia, Otero County Assessor Steven Boyle, Quay County Commissioner Mike Cherry, Rio Arriba County Barney Trujillo, Roosevelt County Sheriff Malin Parker, San Juan County Assessor Clyde Ward, San Miguel County Commissioner Nicolas T. Leger, Sandoval County Commissioner Glenn Walters, Santa Fe County Commissioner Liz Stefanics, Sierra County Commissioner Kenneth C. Lyon, Socorro County Commissioner Danny Monette, Taos County Commissioner Gabriel J. Romero, Torrance County Assessor Betty Cabber, Union County Clerk Mary Lou Harkins, and Valencia County Commissioner Jhonathan Aragon. These individuals were elected by their peer elected officials as ideal candidates to represent their county on the Board. This honor is truly a significant milestone for any county elected official and is based upon their hard work, local government involvement, and ability to address the critical issues important to New Mexico communities.
