The Grant County Art Guild has announced the winners of their Red Dot Art Show that was part of the Red Dot Weekend for area galleries, studios and member artists. The judging of this show was done completely "in the eye of the beholder" by those coming to see the show.
Fidel Hinojosa was the winner in the Paintings category with his oil of "Gulls in Flight." Camille Davis won second place with her painting "Near Cliff Dwellings" and Connie Tihbeau was in third place with "Old Road."
In the Miniature category, the first place ribbon and prize money went to Julia Miller for her painting titled "Hearst Church," Fidel Hinojosa won second with his painting "Shadows" and Karen Danhauer took third place with "Red Rain Over Silver City."
In Photography, the winners are Dona Topmiller for "Twice as Nice," Tom Vaughan for "Doorway to the Past" and "Blood Moon over Silver City" by Vic Topmiller.
The ribbons in the Crafts Division went to Letha Wolfe for her "Pinky Pots" as the first place winner, Letha Wolfe Second Place for "PA Pete" and Ann Taylor for her "Burlap Pink Flower Wreath."
Congratulations to these Guild members who won the votes of the visitors to the Guild's Pinos Altos Art Gallery during this exciting show. And thank you to all of those who came to see the show and carefully selected their favorite paintings, photography and crafts.
