The grand opening of the Silver City Food Co-op Market Café will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Come try free samples of food, meet local artisans, and have lots of free fun.
Steve Darland, a Monticello, New Mexico farmer makes organic balsamic vinegar. His company, The Darland Company, LLC makes America's only traditional-style, organic, aged balsamic vinegar and was featured in the Wall Street Journal! Starting at 10 am, Steve will be available to discuss his process for making balsamic vinegar along with tastings.
At 11 am, we will have our official ribbon cutting ceremony with Scott Terry and the Chamber of Commerce.
At 12 noon, Bayou Seco will be playing in the patio area of the Market Café. This well-loved Silver City duo is always a joy to hear. Terry Timme from the Office of Sustainability will have special recycling bins set up at the Market Café too. Local artisans will be available to discuss their work throughout the day.
Free drawings will be held throughout the day and plenty of samples of great food will be available too. Come by the Market Café and help us celebrate!
