This past Wednesday, more than 130 senior citizens and their families received food from the new Senior Citizen Mobile Food Pantry.
This pantry will be held on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 2-4 PM at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Swan Street.
This distribution had more than 6,000 pounds of food items like potatoes, onions, frozen pizza, milk, cheese, yogurt, strawberries, cabbage, oatmeal, cucumbers and more, all donated or rescued from stores like WalMart.
This pantry is made possible through a grant from Roadrunner Food Bank and our partners at the Knights Of Columbus who are providing the building, parking lot and some of the help.
It is intended for Seniors 55 or older who live in Grant County and have a strong need for food to keep from going hungry.
The next Senior Pantry will be help on Wednesday, July 15, and if you would like to lend a hand, please show up at the Knights Of Columbus Hall around 12:30 PM.
