Eduardo "Henry" Flores, 76, of Deming, NM

EduardoFlores rsEduardo "Henry" Flores went to be with our Lord on Sunday August 9th 2015. He passed away at Deming Memorial Hospital after a long and tough battle with lung disease.

Henry was born to Lalo and Magdalena Flores in El Paso, TX on July 15th, 1939. Henry was raised in Silver City and attended the old Lincoln High School and later Western High School. Henry proudly served and was honorably discharged from the United States Navy. He served a portion of his tenure during the Vietnam War. After serving in the Navy,Henry worked and retired from Kennecott Copper Corporation. He held various jobs throughout his career at the mine but what he loved most was being a truck driver in the mine. Henry married the love of his life, Lucille Romero on February 19th, 1966. Together they had 7 children, 4 of whom were two sets of twin boys.

Henry touched very many lives throughout his life and never had an enemy. He loved to talk to anyone that would listen about anything and everything. He especially loved to talk about his days in the Navy and his time in Japan. Henry would always tell his children that we were related to almost everyone in one way or another. Regardless of his illness, he always had a smile and a laugh for his family and friends, and because of Henry we are better people. Henry was very spiritual and loved God. Henry was an inspiration to us all because of his long suffering and love for his family. He was sick for a long time but never once did he complain about anything. He made us appreciate each other and our health regardless of how good or bad it was.

What Henry loved most was spending time with his family and loved ones at family gatherings. He would entertain us all with his humor and his stories; he will be greatly missed by all of us.

Henry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lucille, five sons, Eddie (Emmarie), Benny (Dina), Raymond, Tony and Steven (Natalie). One daughter, Margaret Begay (James). Henry is also survived by his ten granddaughters, Gabby, Emmy, Sage, Jade, Amanda, Alyssa, Sabrina, Alexis, Suzette, and Maggie. Four grandsons, Eric, Edward, Robert, and Chucky. Seven great-grandchildren. Other survivors are his two sisters, Maria Arellano (Jesus) and Delfina Warnack (Dave). He is also survived by numerous other relatives to include cousins, and personal friends.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Lalo and Magdalena Flores. One son, Robert and two brothers, Crespin Arellin and Marcos Flores.

Rosary will be celebrated by Father Josh Duplissey on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 6 pm at Baca's Funeral Chapel. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday August 13th, 2015 at 9am by his son, Father Raymond Flores at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic church. Burial will follow immediately after at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers are Eric Wilmeth, Alyssa Flores, Gabby and Emmy Begay, Jesse Arrellano and Maggie Flores. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Montes and Carlos Castillo.
